Mt. Wesley has a small but very active congregation. Some of the worthy activities they help support are:
Immanuel’s House: Mt. Wesley provides and prepares the evening meal on the 4th Friday of each month.
Kidz Power Pacs: Community Combined Ministries is a 501(c)3 non-profit. Under our umbrella of services are Kidz Power Pacs (KPP), a weekend feeding ministry for school aged children. We were called in 2007 to start feeding families and their children in Berkeley County. God’s vision continues to grow through out Berkeley and Jefferson Counties, West Virginia! CCM feeds on average 1025+ Children / 42 Schools in these counties. We bulk order monthly and do not source any of our food from any food banks. We are able to do this through prayer, sponsorships, donations, food drives and fundraisers. Community Combined Ministries loves serving our community by empowering families and helping them network with area outreaches and more!
UMCOR – As the humanitarian relief and development arm of The United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Committee on Relief – UMCOR – assists United Methodists and churches to become involved globally in direct ministry to persons in need.
Horses with Hearts: We serve a diverse range of clients and groups, focusing on therapeutic riding as a recreational program, designed to provide physical and emotional benefits through the acquisition of horsemanship skills.
CCAP/Loaves and Fishes: CCAP/Loaves & Fishes provides emergency food and financial assistance to low income and underserved residents of Berkeley County, West Virginia.
Berkeley County Backpack Program: Ending Child Hunger in Berkeley County, One Backpack at a time.
Filling and donating Thanksgiving baskets to the needy through the Berkeley County School System.
Collection and donation of new outerwear and other new clothing at Christmas and Easter.
Funds for the above listed are obtained in various ways other than direct contributions from the Members. Some of these fundraisers consist of things like Spaghetti Suppers, Soup and Sandwich sales. One very popular fundraiser during the summer is the sale of donated produce. Members bring their extras that they grew in their gardens. Other members are able to obtain fresh produce by giving a donation.
However, it is not all work and no play. Bible School is held during the summer, Easter egg hunts, hay rides and Halloween parties, church wide covered dish picnics are held during the summer.
