Rev. Forrest Cummings – “I am honored to be appointed to Mt. Wesley United Methodist Church.
This is the first Church I attended when I moved here.” These were some of the first words shared by Rev. Forrest Cummings (who prefers to be called Pastor Forrest) when asked how he felt about the new changes. Pastor Forrest and his wife Jeane reside at 179 Alydar Road, Hedgesville, WV 25427. Pastor Forrest is a graduate of Duke Divinity School in Durham, N.C. He completed his PHD from West Virginia University. He was ordained in 1978 by Bishop Wertz at the West Virginia Annual Conference. He retired in 2009 from Lincoln County schools and in 2010 from the West Virginia United Methodist Conference. He has served the past eleven years at Butler’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Martinsburg, WV.
Mary Gunderson King is the third Sunday speaker at Mt. Wesley United Methodist Church and Director of Immanuel’s House in Martinsburg, WV. Mary, the child of missionary parents and grew up in the Philippines. She previously served as Social Worker at Trinity United Methodist Church in Martinsburg, WV. Mary is a student at Shepherd University, Shepherdstown, WV and an active musician playing with the Shedhoppers and various other groups in the area. Mary can be found most days at Immanuel’s House, 13 Buxton Street, Martinsburg, WV where she, and her staff, provide services to those who are homeless, disadvantaged, or seeking help with life issues.
Marybeth S. Grove is the Director of Music at Mt. Wesley United Methodist Church. Marybeth also plays guitar and is one of the choir’s soloist. When not researching music, rehearsing the choir, and practicing, Marybeth is teaching guitar and substitute teaching in the Berkeley County School system.
Korinne Myers is the pianist and a choir member at Mt. Wesley United Methodist Church. Korinne lives in Martinsburg, WV is a senior Piano and Vocal Performance major at Shepherd University. She has been active in many choirs and theatre performances at Shepherd. She enjoys sharing the gift of music with others and believes greatly in its healing powers.
